Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris company representative who will brief you on the 4 day Rwanda tour and take you on a Kigali City Tour. Visit the Rwanda Genocide Memorial. This is a place of great historical importance to the people of Rwanda. Have lunch and transfer to Kigali International Airport for your helicopter flight to Volcanoes National Park, taking approximately 25 minutes to arrive at the destination. Upon landing, you will be transferred to Iby’iwacu Community for an evening entertainment. Dinner and staying overnight at;

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
You will have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and head out to the park headquarters as you prepare to track the mountain gorillas. You will be briefed by the ranger guides about the whole gorilla tracking exercise and you will be put in groups of 8 people, led by a ranger guide to guide you through the forest in search of the gorillas. Gorilla Trekking is an amazing experience and the gorillas live in harmony together with other creatures. Along the hike you may be lucky to see other park animals like the giant forest hog, forest elephants and forest duikers. Once you locate the gorillas, you will be allowed up to 1 hour with them for observation and photography. Dinner and staying overnight at;

Day 3: Hiking Dian Fossey and Relaxation
You will assemble at the Karisoke Research Center for the hike to the Dian Fossey tomb. The American primatologist was one of a kind with her great untold works, and she was buried in the park. Along the hike you will witness several plants, tree species, and butterflies. Return for relaxation, dinner and staying overnight at;

Day 4: Helicopter Flight to Kigali – Departure
Have an early morning breakfast after which you shall transfer to the park airstrip for your helicopter flight back to Kigali International Airport for your connecting flight back home.
