8 Days Rwanda Tour

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris company representative who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. This is after visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local market among other places. You will arrive in the afternoon time for dinner and staying overnight, marking the start of the 8 Days Rwanda Tour.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking experience. This begins with a briefing from the park rangers on the dos and don’ts while with the mountain gorillas. In groups of 8 you will head into the forest in search of the primate species. The terrain is rough but so rewarding by the end of the day. It takes 2 or more hours doing the activity depending on how far the gorillas have moved. Return for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking

You will have breakfast after which you transfer to the park headquarters. Just like the previous day, briefing will be done before doing the activity. The endangered species exist only in the Virunga volcanic region. They enjoy living in the bamboo forested region of the conservation area. An hour is allowed while with the primate species if you must take pictures set the camera ready as they are very fast in movement. Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park – Canopy Walk

You will have something to eat after which you transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon guided canopy walk through the forest. The long suspended bridge is the top most ultimate thing to do while in the conservation area. You will have perfect views of the angelic forest from the below. Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Relaxation

Following breakfast, you will transfer to the Uwinka Visitor Center early in the morning for the chimpanzee tracking activity. These are said to be the closest relatives of man, and they are known to be intelligent, social with the ability to use tools. These are magnificent creatures. It takes 2 to 4 hours in search of the primates and an hour is allowed while with the chimpanzees.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Kivu

On this day of the 8 Days of the gorilla safaris, you will have morning breakfast to fill our tummies, check out of the loge and have a day trip to the Lake Kivu, at the back drop of the lake is the great Virunga volcanic mountain region. Arrive in the afternoon for a special meal and relaxation by the pool or at the lake.

Day 7: Full Day Lake Kivu

While enjoying the final touch of our last days in Rwanda, you will enjoy the beachy windy side of the lake overlooking the Virunga in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 8: Departure

After your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and head back to Kigali City and proceed to the airport in time for your outbound flight back home.
