Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris company representative who will transfer you to your accommodation that has been booked. Depending on your time of arrival, our guide will lead you to the local market and the Kigali Genocide Memorial, before returning to the lodge dinner and stay overnight at

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On this day you will enjoy a morning breakfast, after which you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park home to mountain gorillas, gorilla beringei, arriving in time for a check-in at the lodge and entertainment from the Iby’iwacu community. These are said to have been poachers in the park and have however appreciated tourism in a different way for example they will perform and dance to travelers in exchange for money to sustain their living. Return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking
Early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla experience. It begins in the morning at 8:00am with briefing from the park rangers after which you will be divided into groups of 8 per gorilla family. It takes 2 or more hours trekking the mountain gorilla depending on how far they have moved. Through the forest trails you will identify many bird species, plants and other primates present in the conservation area. You will return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 4: Hiking Dian Fossey
The Dian Fossey hike begins at the Karisoke Research Center. In the morning after breakfast, you will reassemble at the park headquarters, do a briefing and hike through the forest to pay tribute to the fallen American primatologist whose great works towards gorillas are evident. Along the trail are angelic plants, beautiful flowers. On a lucky day you may be in position to spot the mountain gorillas. Return for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Morning tea of coffee after which you will drive towards Nyungwe Forest National Park. This is a known home to chimpanzees. The thick tropical rain forest hosts over 13 primate species and is one of the last few remaining tracts of deep forest in Rwanda known to have survived the ice age era. Arrive in time for lunch and later do a short guided nature walk through the forest region. Return for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk
On this day you will have a nice mouth-watering breakfast after which you will transfer to the park headquarters for a morning briefing, then begin the chimpanzee tracking. The primates are so loud that you will be in position to hear them as they have the beautiful sound through the forest. An hour is allowed while with the primates after which you will return for lunch and an afternoon canopy walk through the forest. Dinner and staying overnight at
