Our 3 Days Flying Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Tour will lead you to the best destination to find endemic primates. You will meet the critically endangered species of the mountain gorilla. This is a subspecies of the Eastern gorilla (beringei). You will adventure through the dense forest situated along the mountain slopes of the great Virunga volcanic region. It is home to 5 of the 8 series of the mountains some of which are shared among the neighboring states. The tour begins and ends in Kigali.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Helicopter Flight to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a Verdant Safaris representative who will brief you about the 3 day tour and transfer you for a Kigali City Tour depending on your time of arrival. You will visit the Rwanda Museum exhibiting artefacts of the country, the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a place of memory where thousands of people lost their lives as a result of tribal wars. Visit the local marks and have lunch, after which you will transfer to Kigali International Airport for your epic Helicopter Flight to Volcanoes National Park. This is one of the swiftest means taking approximately 25 minutes to arrive. You will meet your ground guide who will transfer you to the Iby’iwacu Community for a cultural experience. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After your early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will head out to the park headquarters as you prepare to track the mountain gorillas. You will be briefed by the ranger guides about the whole gorilla tracking exercise and you will be put in groups of 8 people, led by a ranger guide to guide you through the forest in search of the gorillas. Gorilla Trekking is an amazing experience and the gorillas live in harmony together with other creatures. Along the hike you may be chanced to see other park animals like the giant forest hog, forest elephants and forest duikers. Once you locate the gorillas, you will be allowed up to 1 hour with them for observation and photography. Dinner and staying overnight at;

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking – Helicopter Transfer to Kigali International Airport
Have an early morning breakfast and reassemble at the park headquarters. You will be briefed before going into the forest to track golden monkeys which is a shorter walk compared to the gorillas. Golden Monkeys are charming beautiful creatures colored in black and gold. Their puffy cheeks filled with bamboo shoots is a thing to witness physically. Return to meet your guide for your organized transfer to board a helicopter back to Kigali City to catch up with your international flight back home.
